One thing I highly recommend doing is to hire a bicycle in Luang Prabang. People are renting them out everywhere you turn in this quiet, beautiful town, and it’s is a perfect way to explore the surroundings, particularly lovely along the Mekong River.

Cycling along the Mekong River was exhilarating and we were able to visit numerous temples and Buddhist monasteries. What’s also great about this is that you can keep the bikes until that evening, so there’s a lot you can see in the day.
