Another school I have been working for since June, is a primary school in the Cau Giay district, in a children’s village for orphaned children (Hermann Gmeiner SOS). (Washington ETC was unaware of this). This is an incredible place to work – the children are incredibly happy – a refreshing change from the miserable kids whose parents are basically forcing them to come to class, and in retaliation are often terribly disruptive! H.G. SOS encourages creativity in class, there is an assistant to help with activities, provide ideas for the lesson, and help to maintain classroom management. These assistants are all wonderful, again a nice change from the unhelpful assistants at Washington ETC, who gossip about you, blatently, in front of you, in Vietnamese.
